Breaking news: A lebanese immigrant is hungry. (the immigrant’s name is kept secret to avoid any embarras and because he doesn’t want to let his mother know that he’s a fan of what she cooks)
I am a lebanese immigrant. It’s been 8 months since I am here in Paris. Yesterday was the first time when i died for getting something called : Lebanese Food.
I hope that every lebanese reading this post is aware of the big chance he has to eat whenever he wants any lebanese food he wants.
Kebbe bel sayniyeh, , kebbit batata, kebbe nayye, kebbe 2ras, and I am sure that everyone has a different type of kebbe in his village. Shawarma, fatte, rez 3a djej, labne mtawwame, hommos awarma, taboule, fatoush..and I can count till tomorrow.
Meelak, Head of a sheep, guts, cow’s tongue…don’t believe me, I am kidding :p
Don’t forget the lebanese sweets and here i’ll only talk about the mighty “Knefeh bi jeben” 😀
Let’s say it frankly, there’s no diversified cuisine like the lebanese one in the world. Ok i understand people saying “La cuisine française raffinée” but it’s also nice to be full after we finish our lunch.
For every lebanese reading this post, I ask you to benefit from every second where you have the choice to eat lebanese food. I know that there are a lot of lebanese restaurant’s here in Paris and in all the immigration countries but I don’t want to eat a Chawarma at 15 euros or some 4 Raqaqat (sort of cheese rolls) at 5 euros and even if i forget about money, there’s no food like the one that is house made…and better that this there’s no food better than my mom’s food.
I am really hungry now that i read your post!
And PS: I never knew I love labneh that much, or makdous or kébbé or the usual lebanese bread until I came to France! I seriously rarely ate them back home, and now, I can’t think of anything else when I’m hungry! We really don’t appreciate anything when we have it!
Another PS: I soooo agree with “7elo l wa7ad y2oum cheb3an 3an l tawle”! These expensive/mini/french/”raffiné” dishes get on my nerves!

Well I’ve been “moughtaribeh” for 2 months now & I went out for Lebanese food after 6 weeks of getting here. It was expensive, pretty good. As good as you can get outside of Lebanon. Bas metel ma elet, ma fi metel akel el em!
